Zolder Preview

The Goodyear FIA ETRC moves on to Belgium this weekend for round six of the truck racing season.

Heading to Circuit Zolder, Norbert Kiss enjoys a comfortable 60-point cushion after a stellar run so far, which has seen the reigning Goodyear FIA ETRC champion score 11 wins in the first 5 rounds. Kiss is without a doubt the favourite to clinch the title in the coming weeks.

Kiss’ main rivals Jochen Hahn and Sascha Lenz have a hard task in front of them to catch the Révész Racing driver, but the two Germans will definitely throw in everything they have to at least close the gap and put on the pressure.

Adam Lacko was denied the chance to race for a win on home ground at Most last weekend and he will bring an extra sense of motivation to Zolder.

T Sport Bernau and driver Antonio Albacete had a somewhat troublesome weekend, with an engine and several gearbox changes at Most. Despite all the issues the Spaniard had good pace and will want to improve on his performance this weekend.

Steffi Halm and André Kursim will be looking for a clean run, after they were both caught up in incidents with their races compromised last weekend at the Autodrom Most.

Promoter’s Cup fight intensifies

The fight in the Promoter’s Cup continues to thrill, as several drivers battle it out in the quest for the title.

Realistically three drivers are in the hunt to claim the silverware this season, with Téo Calvet holding a slight advantage of 8 points over British racer Jamie Anderson.

Fellow countryman Shane Brereton has slightly dropped off the two front runners, after two average rounds at the Nürburgring and in Most, where he only made it onto the podium once. Brereton will be looking to stay in contention with Calvet and Anderson.

Both Steffen Faas and José Rodrigues have scored podiums this season and will be targeting more top positions at Circuit Zolder.

After his first outing last weekend, Lion Truck Racing driver Jonathan André will continue to gain knowledge at the wheel of his MAN.

Clemens Hecker joins the grid again this weekend, after missing last weekend's races at Most.

Track action starts on Friday afternoon with the free practice sessions.
