Mäkinen hoping for Fin(n)ishes during Goodyear FIA ETRC return

Emma Mäkinen has made finishing the four Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship races at the Nürburgring this weekend her sole focus.

The Finn returns to the series for the first time since 2022, one of 19 Goodyear FIA ETRC drivers in action during the German venue’s Int. Shell ADAC Truck-Grand-Prix event.

Mäkinen, who will call on German father-and-son racers Jochen and Lukas Hahn for advice, said: “I’ve been in race truck paddocks since I was one years old as my dad has raced all my life. I’ve raced once in the ETRC, and I’ve raced trucks in Finland. But I’m not waiting to win, I just want to finish every race and get some experience.”

IVECO-powered Mäkinen previously raced in the Goodyear FIA ETRC at the Nürburgring in 2022 when she recorded a trio of top 16 finishes.

“It was very different than racing in the Finnish championship,” she said of her previous Goodyear FIA ETRC outing. “Most of the guys had been racing trucks for many, many years. It was difficult and the weather was so warm, over 30 degrees and we were racing for four times.”

The Int. Shell ADAC Truck-Grand-Prix takes place from 9-12 July. Ticket details and more information is available HERE.
