Goodyear FIA ETRC Misano day two round-up: Kiss takes three but Hahn four points behind in title chase

Norbert Kiss completed the opening round of the 2026 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship with a victory triple and a four-point lead in the provisional standings.

Having triumphed twice on Saturday, the MAN-powered Révész Racing driver secured his second pole position of the weekend with a charging qualifying run this morning. But contact with Jochen Hahn in Race 3 left him down in sixth at the finish as Hahn secured his first win of 2026 ahead of son Lukas, who banked three wins in the Chrome category across the weekend.

But Kiss hit back in Race 4, taking the lead of the partially-reversed-grid counter at the end of lap one and never looking back as Sascha Lenz and René Reinert completed the Race 4 top three.

Antonio Albacete rounded out the Race 3 podium behind the Hahn father-and-son pairing with Bradley Smith second in Chrome and John Newell third. Newell finished third in Chrome in Race 4 behind Mark Taylor and leaves Misano 11 points behind race-by-race competitor Hahn.

Race 3 overall winner Jochen Hahn said: “He [Kiss] made just one mistake, and I think, ‘now it's the time and I do it’. It was perfect and, with one word, I was proud to be on the podium with Lukas. The point is you can only beat Norbert in the first corners and he made a mistake and I go and overtake, that’s it. After this I had it under control.”

Race 4 overall winner Norbert Kiss said: “It's too bad for Race 3, because we lost a lot of points there with the puncture, but, other than that, the rest we've won, so overall a good weekend. We were very fast and really happy with a good start of the season. I hope that we can keep it up. And thank you to the fans for voting for me for the Goodyear Wingfoot Award. I’m really happy about this because it’s a really nice award. Coming from the fans, coming from Goodyear, you know, this award is there in some very highly regarded series, so I'm really happy they brought it to truck racing as well. To be the first one, in history, in truck racing, to win it. I'm really happy.”

Race 3 and Race 4 Chrome winner Lukas Hahn said: “We've had a good pace this weekend and I'm really happy and proud of my team. The did a very good job and we are looking forward, hopefully, to go to do the full season. My next stop [for now] will be at the Nürburgring. To be with my dad on the podium, he's first and I'm second, it’s the best and I'm good with that because I want him to gain a seventh title. Two years ago at Zolder he was first and I was second. It's the second time, so I'm really happy.”

The opening round of the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship marked the first time that Goodyear’s new-for-2026 tyre, which features 60 per cent sustainable materials, was used in competition mode. And more FIA ETRC history was made when Norbert Kiss won the first Goodyear Wingfoot Award to be presented in the championship. The reigning champion received 54 per cent of the fan vote. Lukas Hahn received 31 per cent of the vote with Antonio Albacate, the third shortlisted driver, pooling 15 per cent of the vote.
