Race 2 flash report: Kiss makes it two in Goodyear FIA ETRC
Norbert Kiss is a two-time winner in the 2026 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship after he added victory in Race 2 to his earlier triumph.
From eighth on the partially-reversed gird, Kiss took the chequered flag ahead of pole-sitter Antonio Albacete with José Eduardo Rodrigues third.
“It was very exciting coming through because there were a lot of fights in front of me,” Kiss said. “I mean, the start was also very good again, because I think Lukas was very quickly behind me, then I was side by side with Jochen, and then Jochen started to fight with Stefan Kursch, and I think they were touching a little bit as well. So, that was a scary moment, but I could stay out of it and keep up my momentum, staying in a good track position, find some way to out-brake some people and then I think I was in P4 quite quickly. And then after that, I was just trying to reach people in front of me and attack them a little bit. Try to make them do some mistakes, and they did eventually. Sascha as well, and then José as well, and then Antonio as well. They each made a mistake, which was just enough for me to move into position and overtake them. So, a very good performance, a very good job from the team Révész Racing. I’m very happy about today.”
Albacete led up until lap eight, but the three-time FIA ETRC title winner couldn’t keep Kiss at bay although he was able to secure second place by 1.549s ahead of Rodrigues to make up for his Race 1 woes.
Jochen Hahn finished fourth ahead of Sascha Lenz with Steffi Halm sixth from 14th on the grid. René Reinert finished seventh ahead of Bradley Smith, who was the leading Chrome finisher from the back of the grid before the Briton was disqualified following post-race technical checks.
Stefan Kursch finished ninth on the road with John Newell nursing his damaged MAN home in 10th. Kursch and Newell finished second and third respectively in the Chrome classification before moving up one place each at Smith’s expense with Mark Taylor taking third in Chrome.
Following Smith’s exclusion, Clemens Hecker and Jonathan André finished 11th and 12th respectively. However, Lukas Hahn, Steffen Faas and Luke Garrett were not so fortunate after they retired with mechanical issues. Faas had started from the front row of the grid.
