Halm reveals “a lot of pressure” after defending Goodyear FIA ETRC podium from Kiss
Steffi Halm said there was “a lot of pressure” as she fended off Norbert Kiss for the final Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship podium spot in Race 2 at the Nürburgring earlier today.
Kiss, the seven-time Goodyear FIA ETRC champion and current points leader, closed on Halm during the final three laps and started the deciding tour within touching distance of the German driver’s IVECO truck.
But Halm held on by 0.125 for a hugely popular home podium, her third of the 2026 Goodyear FIA ETRC season.
“The last two or three laps were hard because I saw Norbi had overtaken Sascha [Lenz], and I knew he would close quickly so we had to fight because he’s so much faster,” Halm said. “The last lap was really hard, and I was lucky it was the last one because every braking point I go on the inside so he couldn’t cut in, it worked and I’m really happy for me and also for the team because we finished on the podium.

“For sure there was a lot of pressure because the last lap is also a tricky lap because the tyres are really hot so it’s very easy to brake and lock the tyre. If you have somebody like Norbi behind you know every single little mistake and he will pass you. It’s trying to stay focused, make no mistake and it worked, I’m really, really happy.”
