How watching live has helped Lacko ahead of Goodyear FIA ETRC return
Adam Lacko will know what to expect when he starts his first Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship event in more than three years at the Nürburgring tomorrow.
The 2017 Goodyear FIA ETRC champion has been following the series live on YouTube this season while preparing for his eagerly anticipated return to competition.
Ahead of the Int. Shell ADAC Truck-Grand-Prix getting under way, Czech legend Lacko said: “I’m all the time watching the races, it’s very nice fighting all the season. Norbi [Kiss] is still on the front, and I hope somebody can catch him! But it’s still interesting and here in Nürburgring it’s a very nice weekend, the 40th anniversary and I expect a lot of fans. The weather also looks nice.”
When asked if he could be the driver to stop seven-time Goodyear FIA ETRC champion Kiss from extending his winning run in Germany, Lacko said: “I don’t think so, I’m not here in truck racing for three or four years, it’s a long time. I hope I don’t forget the driving with the truck, but I try maximum.
“Nürburgring is a really nice circuit, not very narrow, like Most, very good for truck racing. If I can have one podium it will be great, but it’s far away from now because we will see how is the truck and everything. With fifth position I will be happy.”
Lacko will line up in ninth position for Race 1 at 10:20 local time tomorrow (Saturday). Watch the action live on YouTube.
