Race 4 flash report: Kiss fights back to complete Goodyear ETRC opener on top

Norbert Kiss has completed the opening round of the 2026 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship with victory in the fourth and final race of the Misano weekend.

Starting third on the partially-reversed Race 4 grid after tyre damage left him sixth in Race 3, the Révész Racing driver pounced when René Reinert ran wide at the final corner of lap one, taking first place and never looking back for his third win at the sun-drenched Italian venue.

Sascha Lenz completed a strong two days in second place as Reinert resisted intense pressure from Steffi Halm to finish third. Albacete took fourth behind Halm with Race 3 winner Jochen Hahn heading home his son Lukas, the Chrome category winner, in sixth.

José Eduardo Rodrigues finished eighth, while reigning Chrome champion Mark Taylor overtook John Newell in the closing stages to finish ninth with Newell finishing 10th.

Steffen Faas, Stefan Kursch, Bradley Smith and Luke Garrett completed the finishers, but Jonathan André and Clemens Hecker were unable to start due to mechanical issues. Smith had started from the reverse-grid pole alongside Reinert. Despite a strong start, he dropped down the order due to contact.

Kiss, meanwhile, began his bid for an eighth FIA ETRC title by winning the Goodyear Wingfoot Award with 54 per cent of the fan vote. Lukas Hahn received 31 per cent of the vote with Antonio Albacate, the third shortlisted driver, pooling 15 per cent of the vote.
