Goodyear FIA ETRC racer André: It’s a pleasure to compete at the highest level

Jonathan André is relishing competing in the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship in 2026 because it’s pushing him to be even faster behind the wheel.

André competes on a race-by-race basis in the Goodyear FIA ETRC alongside his French championship campaign. As well as appearances at Misano and Nürburgring earlier this season, André is planning to take part in the rounds at Zolder and Jarama in addition to his home event, the 24 Heures Camions at Le Mans in France from 26-27 September.

“It's a pleasure to come to the ETRC because it's the highest level of truck racing in the world,” said the MAN-powered Lion Truck Racing driver. “For me and for my team, it pushes everybody to try to be as best as possible. And when you race with the best teams and the best drivers, it helps us to go faster.”

After two Goodyear FIA ETRC appearances in 2026, André is eighth in the Chrome classification and 17th in the overall ranking. And even though he’s not mounting a full campaign in the series, and with his programme in France his top priority this season, André always strives to perform at the best level possible.

“I want to do it as best as possible each time I come to the ETRC,” he said. “It’s hard work to adapt to both championships, but it's nice [to do both] because it pushes me to go faster, and I enjoy it. I have a lot of pressure because I want to do nice results after the podiums I had last year, but I am just a race-by-race driver, my goal is the French championship.”

Of his French championship exploits, André added: “We made four races and I’m in third position. We have a new truck this year and I have two retirements. But now the truck is good, the reliability seems to be okay, and I expect to be third in the French championship, that’s my goal this season.”
