Hecker ‘motivated’ for home Goodyear FIA ETRC counter

Scania-powered Clemens Hecker won’t be short of motivation when he contests his home round of the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship at the Nürburgring this weekend.

The Chrome category racer starts the Int. Shell ADAC Truck-Grand-Prix event on a high following his success in the TGP Championship round at the Lausitzring last month, a result that helped to cancel out a challenging start to his Goodyear FIA ETRC campaign.

Hecker said: “We had a great season last year and we have built a brand-new truck with new technology. We didn’t have time to test before the season started so we actually came [to Lausitzring for the TGP Championship] to test the truck. To be honest, I didn't expect to win in the end, so it was a perfect end to the weekend and great motivation for the Nürburgring.”
