Smith ready to make the Most of it in Goodyear FIA ETRC
Bradley Smith hopes to hit the ground running when the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship resumes at Autodrom Most this weekend.
Smith’s MAN race truck has been extensively repaired following an opening-lap crash in Race 4 at the Nürburgring last month that left his T Sport Bernau-built machine badly damaged.
The British driver said: “We had the big crash in the last race, the boys have worked hard and pulled all the front out and got it back to racing standards to get us through the last four rounds and hopefully over the winter will put a new front in the cabin. But it’s all safe, brand new and ready to fight.
Smith starts in Czech Republic third in the Chrome category standings. He continued: “We’ve gone back to the basic set-up that we had at the beginning of the year and see how it feels. We’ve got an hour [of practice] on track today so we can make some tweaks before qualifying.
“I love the circuit, but I’ve had no luck here the last two years I’ve raced here, but hopefully third time lucky as they say. It’s fast corners, slow corners, very technical and you don’t get much of a break. But it’s good racing, especially Turn 1. Hopefully we put on a good show.”
