Lenz leaves it late in rain-hit Goodyear FIA ETRC practice

Sascha Lenz took his turn to shine in the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship at Autodrom Most, setting the quickest time on his final lap of Free Practice 2.

Lenz had topped the order on a track that dried rapidly following a brief rain shower shortly before the 30-minute session got under way.

Norbert Kiss, who’s bidding for an eighth Goodyear FIA ETRC title in 2026, then dislodged his German rival from the top of the timesheets with a final effort of 2m02.292s, before Lenz retaliated by taking the chequered flag with a session benchmark of 2m02.142s.

Behind Kiss, home hero Adam Lacko gave local fans reason to cheer when he went third quickest on the 4.212-kilometre layout, the Czech star registering a 2m03.292s best to beat Steffi Halm and Chrome category pacesetter John Newell.

Jochen Hahn, who was quickest in Free Practice 1 earlier, was sixth fastest ahead of Mark Taylor, Antonio Albacete and Lukas Hahn, his son.

José Eduardo Rodrigues hit back from the technical issues that hampered him in FP1 to go 10th quickest as René Reinert finished up one place behind the Portuguese third-generation racer, while Luke Garrett completed the top 12.

Luis Recuenco, Bradley Smith and the returning Christian Ruppert followed with Emma Mäkinen 16th and Steffen Faas 17th.

Qualifying 1-2-3 provides the next Goodyear FIA ETRC track action from the Czech Truck & NASCAR Prix with the three-phase session due to begin at 16:15 lcoal time.
