KISS AND HAHN MAKE UP FRONT ROW FOR RACE 3
Another showcase from Norbert Kiss as he takes pole position with a 1:55.721, six tenths faster than Jochen Hahn in second.
After the disappointment of early elimination yesterday, both René Reinert and José Eduardo Rodrigues had a much better Sunday, making it comfortably through to Q3. They were joined by Antonio Albacete and Steffi Halm as it was Sascha Lenz as the Titan to miss out on a pole shootout appearance.
Albacete showed his truck was back on the pace after heavy repairs last night, taking third behind Kiss and Hahn. He will share the second row with Reinert, ahead of Rodrigues and Halm.
Luke Garrett almost took his first Chrome pole, showing the competitiveness of the #42 this weekend, but was just beaten by Mark Taylor to the position. Taylor optimised on poor performances from Chrome rivals Clemens Hecker and Bradley Smith as neither of them made it out of Q1. He starts beside Lenz on the fourth row of the grid.
Behind Garrett, Jonathan André put on a good performance to take third in class, 10th on the overall grid. John Newell and Luis Recuenco rounded off the top 12 and Q2 competitors.
Hecker struggled to put a competitive lap together, seeing him miss out on Q2 by the barest of margins. He managed to out-qualify Smith who he passed yesterday for the lead of the Chrome championship. The seventh row will be one to keep an eye on in Race 3.
Stefan Kursch was the last of the Q1 qualifiers, taking P15 on the grid. Steffen Faas did not take part in qualifying again today, but will start P16 so long as the truck has no further issues and it is approved by the stewards.
