Lausitzring review: Kiss extended lead as Reinert stole the spotlight
The Lausitzring round had it all: dominant drives, emotional victories, and high-stakes battles that shook up the championship standings.
Reigning champion Norbert Kiss was back in unstoppable form, taking two commanding wins in Race 1 and Race 3 to further extend his title lead. But it was René Reinert who stole the show in Race 2, taking a hugely emotional home victory in front of the local fans – his first since returning to the grid after a three-year break.
Steffi Halm showed incredible consistency, defending hard to claim two podiums and proving once again that she’s one of the toughest competitors on track. Jochen Hahn fought hard in Race 1, briefly holding off Kiss in the opening laps, but couldn’t keep pace with the champion. Still, two podium finishes kept him in contention.
Further back, Antonio Albacete, Sascha Lenz, and José Eduardo Rodrigues all had flashes of strong pace. Lenz took a podium, while Albacete’s weekend was hindered by a penalty and a gearbox failure in qualifying, and Rodrigues impressed with determined comeback drives despite his own mechanical setbacks.
