REINERT BECOMES THIRD MULTIPLE WINNER OF 2025

Joining Norbert Kiss and José Eduardo Rodrigues, René Reinert has become the third repeat overall winner of the season.

Taking the lead from reverse grid pole sitter Luke Garrett going into the first corner, Reinert made winning a race look easy as he left the field behind him. As is always the case with reverse grid races, the leader looks to extend a margin as a buffer for anyone climbing up the field, but Reinert was so in control of the final race in Zolder that it looked like his win from the very start.

José Eduardo Rodrigues gave chase after passing Garrett off the start, but he didn’t have a response for the German. Instead he settled for second, doing everything he needed to to make sure there was enough of a gap between him and third place to defend from any attack from behind.

Steffi Halm had looked like she was doing enough to take a podium finish from Zolder, driving another nice defensive drive to hold Kiss back. Kiss had seemed to struggle a bit with clearing through the trucks this race and only had four laps to pass Halm if he were to make it to the podium. It was on the penultimate lap where Halm went a bit too wide, opening the door for Kiss to make the pass.

The third place to Jochen Hahn’s seventh puts Kiss 77 points ahead in the overall standings. It is mathematically possibly for Kiss to take the championship after Race 2 in Le Mans, but it more likely will take until Race 3 for him to claim his seventh title.

It was a tough race for Hahn who really struggled to find the pace. He got stuck in the Chrome battle for a few laps which lost him a chance to put any pressure on Sascha Lenz ahead in sixth place. The seventh place is his lowest of the season so far, and not how he’ll have wanted to end the weekend after the highs of taking his first win of the season yesterday.

Antonio Albacete finished fifth between Halm and Lenz for the final race of the weekend. It was relatively uneventful for him, managing to hold off Kiss for a couple of laps before he conceded the position.

Mark Taylor capped off the almost perfect Sunday with Chrome class victory, extending his lead in the championship to 12 points. He was joined once again on the podium by Luke Garrett and John Newell having passed Garrett for the lead of the class in lap one. The two made light contact in the pass, but it was tight and respectful racing that saw Taylor up into the lead.

Clemens Hecker had a better Race 4 than Race 3, taking fourth at the chequered flag. Still losing points to Taylor in the Chrome standings, he has finished the weekend second and tied on points with Bradley Smith. Smith finished sixth again with Jonathan André splitting the two.

Steffen Faas continued to build on his good result from Race 3, repeating his result of seventh after making a few passes and defending his position well. Luis Recuenco was the final truck to classify, 22 seconds down on Faas after briefly stopping in the pitlane to check an issue.

Unfortunately, Stefan Kursch did not start the final race after identifying an engine issue.
