Kiss shows his speed with Goodyear FIA ETRC Warm-up best
Norbert Kiss once again proved to be the driver to beat in the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship with a Sunday morning Warm-up performance that was faster than his best qualifying effort from 2025.
The seven-time Goodyear FIA ETRC champion posted a benchmark effort of 2m00.827s at Autodrom Most 12 months ago but lowered his previous standard to 2m00.388s during the 15-minute session that got under way at 08:00 local time.
Despite being late out on track in his Révész Racing-run MAN, Saturday’s Race 1 winner was soon into his stride to head T Sport Bernau’s Antonio Albacete and Chrome category pacesetter Lukas Hahn, who banked the Race 2 laurels ahead of his father Jochen. Hahn Sr completed Warm-up in fourth position, 0.783s slower than Kiss.
Sascha Lenz prepared for the upcoming Qualifying 4-5-6 in fifth place ahead of Steffi Halm, René Reinert, John Newell, José Eduardo Rodrigues and Bradley Smith.
Czech star Adam Lacko ended Warm-up in P11, one place ahead of defending Chrome champion Mark Taylor. Behind Luke Garrett, Luis Recuenco returned to action after a mechanical issue prevented the Mercedes-powered Spaniard from contesting Race 2 yesterday.
Steffen Faas, Emma Mäkinen and Christian Ruppert completed the Goodyear FIA ETRC contenders.
Qualifying 4-5-6 is next for the Goodyear FIA ETRC drivers and their teams with the three-phase session due to begin at 09:25 live on YouTube. Race 3 then follows from 13:15 with Race 4, the weekend’s final contest, due to begin at 16:15. Both races, which are scheduled for 11 laps, will be streamed as they happen on YouTube.
