Goodyear FIA ETRC champion Kiss tops wet Zolder Warm-up
Norbert Kiss proved to be fast in the rain as well as the dry when he went quickest of all in a wet Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship Warm-up at Circuit Zolder this morning.
Seven-time champion Kiss, competing in a Révész Racing MAN, maximised the grip offered by Goodyear’snew-for-2026 tyre, which features 60 per cent sustainable materials and has been designed for dry- and wet-weather use, to set a session-topping time of 2m10.423s.
Former title winners Jochen Hahn and Antonio Albacete were second and third fastest respectively with IVECO-powered Hahn preparing for the upcoming Qualifying 4-5-6 in a 2m11.284s best.
Leading Young Driver José Eduardo Rodrigues and defending Chrome champion Mark Taylor were next up with Sascha Lenz, the winner of Race 2 yesterday, sixth quickest ahead of Steffen Faas (Freightliner) and Luis Recuenco (Mercedes-Benz).
John Newell, who took a Chrome win double on Saturday was ninth fastest followed by Luke Garrett and René Reinert. Steffi Halm, Jonathan André, Stefan Kursch and Clemens Hecker completed the top 15.
Round five of the 2026 Goodyear FIA ETRC at Circuit Zolder continues with Qualifying 4-5-6 from 11:05. Race 3, which is scheduled for 12 laps, is due to begin at 14:20 followed by the 12-lap Race 4 at 17:05. Watch the action live on YouTube. Click HERE for live timing.
