Smith returns with Rodrigues on the brink of Goodyear FIA ETRC Young Driver glory

Portuguese racer Rodrigues, who follows his grandfather and father by competing in the Goodyear FIA ETRC, needs 33 points from the French event to take the crown.

After five rounds, Rodrigues heads Briton Smith by 87 points with the title between these two drivers.

If Rodrigues falters at Le Mans and Smith scores sufficient points to keep the title fight alive, the championship will go down to next weekend’s Jarama finale when Lukas Hahn, a multiple winner in 2026 who has been competing on a race-by-race basis, will also compete.
