Albacete ready for the next challenge in Goodyear FIA ETRC

The T Sport Bernau driver, who is locked in a close battle with Sascha Lenz for second place in the title standings, describes the 4.185-kilometre layout at Le Mans as tough but enjoyable.

“I like Le Mans, I enjoy Le Mans but it’s a challenge,” the three-time Goodyear FIA ETRC title winner said. “It has some corners that are difficult, after the Dunlop bridge the righthander, [Virage de La Chapelle], is a difficult corner. But I like the circuit, and I also like the atmosphere. There are a lot of people coming and I remember last year that when I see the grandstands, I thought it was in the 24 Hours of Le Mans [sportscar] race, it’s unbelievable.”

After five Goodyear FIA ETRC weekends in 2026, Albacete is third in the standings, 15 points behind second-placed Lenz after he banked 41 points during the Belgian Grand Prix weekend at Circuit Zolder earlier this month. The Spaniard finished second in Race 1 and Race 3 during an impressive showing.
