Hahn beats Lenz to second in Goodyear FIA ETRC but wants more

Jochen Hahn snatched second place from Sascha Lenz in the 28th and final race of the 2026 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship season – but wants to go one better in 2027.

The German aces had to be separated on countback after they completed the season equal on points with Hahn classified ahead of Lenz due to his greater number of second-place finishes.

Hahn was in fourth place, 16 points behind Lenz, after the Belgian Truck Grand Prix weekend at Circuit Zolder. But a late-season surge put the six-time Goodyear FIA ETRC champion ahead of Lenz in the final reckoning.

“In the end we have the same points so it means we’re on the same level and I’m a little bit lucky because I have more second places in the end,” said IVECO-powered Hahn. “I’m happy and I think Sascha is also happy. It’s fair races, a fair fight and I’m proud and happy. In the end we have the same target and that’s to beat Norbert Kiss, that’s why we are here.”

MAN-driving Lenz said: “I’m fine, I think I had a good season. If you say at the beginning I fight for P2 in the championship I don’t think that [it is possible]. But congratulations to Jochen and his team, they make a great job, and we’ll come back next year.”
