Steffi Halm makes it two in Goodyear FIA ETRC
Steffi Halm joined Norbert Kiss as the only driver to win more than once in the 2026 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship after she triumphed in the 28th and final race of the season at Circuito de Madrid Jarama – RACE this afternoon.
Lining up in second place on the partially-reversed grid for Race 4, the IVECO-powered racer’s path to glory was eased when polesitter René Reinert was unable to take the restart due to damage sustained after Halm inadvertently made contact with him as he slowed when the initial start was red-flagged.
Nursing cosmetic damage to the front-right corner of her race truck, Halm led throughout on the restart to beat José Eduardo Rodrigues and Lukas Hahn, the Chrome category winner.
“For me it’s good to have the victory at the end because it was a tough season for us,” Halm said. “For sure we planned more but in the end it was the sixth place. Now it’s push to work hard during the winter to be stronger next year. There was a red flag and I didn’t see it. I tried to pass René, I thought he had a problem maybe with the shifting. I saw the red flag and then I braked and I just hit him because I didn’t see the red flag and I’m really, really sorry for that.”
In a late twist Jochen Hahn snatched the runner-up spot in the overall standings from Sascha Lenz after a dramatic pass on Antonio Albacete at the end of lap nine gave the six-time Goodyear FIA ETRC champion the points he needed to beat Lenz to second place in the end-of-season provisional order by finishing fifth behind Lenz.

Lukas Hahn said: “It’s really amazing, we cannot imagine it before. It was a really good weekend. We had a lot of pace, also hard fights and the last race was pretty hard to hold Sascha behind me, but I’m really happy, everything is perfect. And to win Goodyear Wingfoot Award is something special because the fans are supporting us the whole season and help us to win it.”
Albacete was forced to settle for sixth as Norbert Kiss completed his eight Goodyear FIA ETRC title-winning season* in seventh ahead of recently-crowned Chrome champion John Newell*.
Steffen Faas completed the Chrome podium behind winner Lukas Hahn and Newell in 10th overall ahead of Mark Talyor, Luis Recuenco and Bradley Smith.
Having claimed his maiden outright Goodyear FIA ETRC victory in Saturday’s second race, Smith was hoping to finish his season on a further high. However, contact with Taylor sent him into the gravel trap at the Farina corner on the opening lap to bring out the red flags. Smith was able to take the restart following repairs, while Taylor was handed a five-second penalty.
Luke Garrett, the unfortunate Reinert, Jonathan André and Mika Mäkinen completed the finishers but a mechanical issue led to Clemens Hecker retiring.

Meanwhile, Lukas Hahn won the Goodyear Wingfoot Award fan ahead of Kiss and Smith.
