The perfect 14 for Goodyear FIA ETRC champion Kiss

Norbert Kiss made it a clean sweep of pole positions in the 2026 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship by going fastest in the final qualifying session of the season at Circuito de Madrid Jarama – RACE this morning.

After he banked pole number 13 of 2026 in Qualifying 1-2-3 yesterday, Kiss maintained his 100 per cent record in Qualifying 4-5-6 with a session topping effort of 1m56.869s aboard his Révész Racing MAN.

The recently-crowned* eight-time Goodyear FIA ETRC champion will therefore start Race 3 from the front when the 12-lap contest gets under way at 13:45 local time live on YouTube and TV channels across Europe and around the world.

“A good qualifying and I’m very happy about the whole season performance,” said Kiss. “Again, thank you to the team, Révész Racing, they did a very, very good job to prepare for every condition.

“It’s always a nice achievement to do something like that because it’s very difficult and, in the past, it was also very difficult. But we did a really good job.

“Reliability was the key this season as well, besides performance of course. I tried to make no mistakes and do the maximum that we can. This is a one-lap qualifying format, so you really have to know your limits and really know what you are capable of before your lap to don’t go over the limit. But 99 per cent is usually a better result than if you push too hard.”

While Kiss celebrated a second outright pole of the Goodyear FIA ETRC weekend, Lukas Hahn was again the driver to beat in the Chrome category driving an IVECO for Team Hahn Racing.

He ended Qualifying 4-5-6 fourth overall behind his father Jochen, who was second fastest, and third-placed home hero Antonio Albacete.

Sascha Lenz and José Eduardo Rodrigues completed the Q6 shootout fifth and sixth fastest respectively.

How the battle for Goodyear FIA ETRC pole position unfolded

After a rain-hit start to Saturday, Qualifying 4-5-6 took place in dry and increasingly warm conditions.

Norbert Kiss was the driver on top form in Q4, the Hungarian’s 1m56.909s best heading the timing screens and securing immediate progression to Q5. Joining him in the next phase of second qualifying were José Eduardo Rodrigues, who was second quickest, followed by Jochen Hahn, his son and top Chrome runner Lukas Hahn, plus Steffi Halm, Sascha Lenz, René Reinert, Bradley Smith, Antonio Albacete, John Newell, Mark Taylor and local ace Luis Recuenco.

But while these 12 drivers celebrated reaching Q5, Luke Garrett, Jonathan André, Steffen Faas, Clemens Hecker and Mika Mäkinen all missed out with Hecker going off into the gravel at T3 in the closing moments of the session to bring out the red flags.

Kiss was again the driver in front in Q5 with a time of 1m57.031s enough for a place in the Q6 pole position showdown. Jochen Hahn, Lenz, Albacete, Lukas Hahn and Rodrigues also made it through in that order, while Halm was the first driver to miss out in seventh place.

Reinert, Smith, Newell, Taylor and Recuenco would also go no further than Q5 with the ranking putting Chrome title chasers Newell and Taylor 10th and 11th on the Race 3 grid respectively.

Although Kiss couldn’t quite emulate his 1m56.590s recorded in Q3 on Saturday, he nevertheless ensured that he remained unbeaten in 2026 Goodyear FIA ETRC qualifying by extending his run to 14 pole positions.

Jochen Hahn, Albacete, Chrome pacesetter Lukas Hahn (above), Lenz and Rodrigues completed the Q6 top six.

Race 3 is next up on the 39th Grand Prix de España FIA Europeo de Camiones weekend schedule from 13:45 with Race 4 following at 15:55. Both races will be streamed live on YouTube and shown by broadcasters across Europe and around the world.
