Spaniard Luis Recuenco is a motorsport all-rounder, having explored various disciplines ranging from single-seaters to touring cars and even off-road racing. He turned his attention to truck racing in 2018, when he teamed up with fellow Spaniard Antonio Albacete at Truck Sport Lutz Bernau, learning the ropes and finding his feet in a new discipline

Throughout his rookie season, Recuenco steadily honed his skills under the mentorship of Albacete, showcasing improvement race after race. His breakthrough moment came at the Slovakia Ring, where he secured an impressive ninth-place finish overall and clinched second in the Promoter's Cup.

The following year, Recuenco enjoyed a stellar campaign in the Promoter's Cup, notching up four victories and remaining in contention for the title until the penultimate round, ultimately finishing third.

After sporadic appearances in 2022, Recuenco returned to the Goodyear FIA ETRC grid for a full season in 2023, piloting an overhauled IVECO truck. Despite encountering setbacks, including an engine failure fire that sidelined his truck in Zolder, Recuenco showcased resilience and determination. Racing in Lukas Hahn's truck for the latter part of the season, he delivered standout performances, clinching his first overall race win at Le Mans and securing multiple victories in the Promoter’s Cup. With an impressive streak of 4 wins in the final 4 races, Recuenco surged to fourth place in the overall class standings, solidifying his status as a formidable competitor in the Goodyear FIA ETRC.
