KISS ON TOP AS RECUENCO TAKES CHROME POLE
Norbert Kiss added another pole to his 2025 season counter, whilst Luis Recuenco took his first Chrome pole position of the year.
It looked like it was going to go down to the wire with Kissand Jochen Hahn trading fastest sectors in the final flying lap of Q3. Kiss hadthe advantage in sector one, Hahn clawing it back in sector 2. But the reigningchampion just had the edge in sector three, taking pole position by half asecond.
It’s the front row we’re used to with qualifying races, andit’ll be all about who gets the jump on the run down to Turn 1 in Race 1 in afew hours’ time.
Sascha Lenz is back on good form with a well needed strongqualifying position. He lines up third on the grid, sharing the second row withJosé Eduardo Rodrigues. The P4 for the Portuguese driver is his best qualifyingof the season, since he has moved up to the Titan class.
René Reinert settled for fifth on the first grid of theweekend, sharing the third row with Antonio Albacete. Albacete will be lookingfor a strong start to the weekend after his mixed outing at the last round inLausitzring.
Steffi Halm was the Titan that missed out on Q3. The Q2times were set late into the session, not leaving a lot of time forimprovements. No one did improve, leaving Halm stranded just over a tenth offLenz’ Q2 time, having to accept seventh place.
Recuenco’s Q2 lap was enough to beat all the Chromecompetition, giving him his first Chrome pole of the season. The 2:43.619 wastwo tenths off Halm’s time, but importantly four tenths faster than his Chromecompetitors.
Steffen Faas looks to be having a better weekend once again,as each race event brings improvement, understanding and changes to his newFreightliner. He’s P9 overall, but notably second in Chrome, outpacing classchampionship rivals Bradley Smith and Mark Taylor, who took third and fourth,tenths and eleventh overall, respectively.
John Newell rounded up the Q2 qualifiers, taking twelfth onthe overall grid, fifth in class.
Luke Garrett, Clemens Hecker and Christian Ruppert were thefirst eliminated in Q1, filling P13-15 on the grid.
