Faas credits team for getting him back on track in Goodyear FIA ETRC

Steffen Faas has explained how teamwork got him back on track in the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship during the season-showdown in Spain earlier this month.

The tankpool24-Racing driver was prevented from taking part in Race 1 and Race 2 at Circuito de Madrid Jarama – RACE while his mechanics completed an engine change on his Freightliner.

Faas said: “We changed the engine, I feel the engine is not good, it made a sound that was not correct so I said to my team to please change the engine before it broke in the race, we do this, but we need two races to change, and with the Freightliner it’s not easy to change the engine with the cabin which you must change from the front to the back, it was a big work but we do it.”

The German ace hit back from his Saturday woes to finish seventh in Chrome and 14th overall in Race 3 before he completed the Chrome podium in ninth overall in Race 4 behind winner Lukas Hahn and runner-up John Newell.

He ended the 2026 Goodyear FIA ETRC season fourth in the Chrome standings and 12th in the overall ranking.

“I’m very happy to be in the last race on the podium, for me it’s phenomenal,” Faas added.
