Electric Pace Truck Leads the Way: IVECO S-eWay Debuts in Goodyear FIA ETRC
Long-standing championship partner IVECO is set to break new ground at the 2025 season opener in Misano by providing the official ePaceTruck—the fully electric IVECO S-eWay.
For the first time in truck racing history, a battery-electric truck will lead the grid, underscoring the championship’s ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainability.
The ePaceTruck will make its debut at Misano on May 17–18, joining the IVECO S-Way LNG truck, which has served as pace truck for the past two seasons, as part of a dual-energy approach on the grid.
“The fully electric IVECO S-eWay Pace Truck marks another important step in our commitment to sustainable truck racing,” said Georg Fuchs, Managing Director of ETRA. “Together with IVECO, we are not only writing a new chapter in the sport’s history but also sending a strong signal to the wider industry: change is happening, and it’s happening now.”

With a range of up to 500 km and fast-charging capability of up to 350 kW, the IVECO S-eWay is built to perform under pressure. Featuring a bold design, twin-motor electric axle, and striking grid-ready lighting system, the fully electric pace truck is a statement of intent for the future of truck racing.
By integrating both electric and bio-LNG-powered pace trucks into the race environment, IVECO showcases a multi-energy strategy that mirrors the diversity of real-world transport needs . This pragmatic and forward-thinking approach underlines the role of the championship as a testbed for scalable, sustainable solutions.
“With the new IVECO S-eWay as the official pace truck of the ETRC 2025, we are sending out a clear and forward-looking message: the journey toward sustainable mobility in heavy-duty transport is well underway on our roads, and it is gradually beginning to make its mark in the world of motorsport,” says Carlotta Mathis, Head of Strategy and Marketing at IVECO. “As we celebrate IVECO’s 50th anniversary, we proudly reaffirm our long-standing partnership with the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship. Over the years, the ETRC has represented far more than a competition - it has been a platform where we share key values such as innovation, endurance, and technological progress. Our ongoing involvement in motorsport reflects our belief that what performs under the toughest conditions can lead progress on everyday roads.”
