Race Rewind: Misano brought the heat

The 2025 Goodyear FIA ETRC season kicked off in scorching style at Misano - and it was Norbert Kiss who lit it up. The reigning champion delivered a clean sweep across all four races, but it wasn’t all smooth sailing: a storming comeback from P15 in Race 1 and chaos in Race 4 showed just how sharp his racecraft is.

Behind him, the battles were fierce. Jochen Hahn had the pace but not the luck, Steffi Halm quietly impressed with podium consistency, and José Eduardo Rodrigues made an early statement as a Titan class contender. Sascha Lenz scored his first podium of the season on Saturday, but was unlucky with a puncture on Sunday. René Reinert’s return was one to watch, too — a podium and strong points haul hinted at much more to come.

And then there was drama: Antonio Albacete’s weekend ended in a heavy crash with Luke Garrett, shaking up the grid and leaving plenty to talk about heading into Round 2.

Norbert Kiss sailed to pole position for Race 3, but back in the Chrome class the fastest lap went down to the wire, Clemens Hecker and Steffen Faas separated by only seven hundredths of a second.

It was another clinical race through the field for Norbert Kiss taking the overall win, but Steffen Faas’ races of misfortune have paid off in class victory.
