T Sport Bernau was formed in 2020, when T Sport Racing and Truck Sport Bernau joined forces to contest as a team in the Goodyear FIA ETRC.

With the T Sport Racing team entering their third season in the  ETRC, and the well-established and experienced Truck Sport Bernau team looking for ways to breathe new ideas and energy into their racing commitment, a strategy to collaborate was quickly established.

Team owners Lutz Bernau and Egi Bartmann have taken on a supervisory roles within the team, providing technical and operational support.

Lutz Bernau is a real pioneer of truck racing in Germany and has been a fixture on the scene since 1984. The former European champion first competed as a driver in the Dakar rally and in international truck racing. In 2005 he moved to the role of Team Principal and has since then successfully run his team picking up several European Championship titles, wins and podiums.

2019 FIA European Truck Racing Championship runner up and triple ETRC champion Antonio Albacete is the team’s racing driver.

T Sport Bernau is the first Goodyear FIA ETRC team to be awarded with the one-star level of the FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme for their efforts to reduce their impact on the environment.

The programme developed by the FIA aims to help key players in the motorsport and automotive sector to measure and enhance their environmental performance by means of an independent certification process.

T Sport Bernau has demonstrated an overall solid environmental commitment with willingness to follow up public expectations towards environmental management.

The recognition by the FIA is a first important step for the team, as they continue to work closely with the FIA and ETRA to improve their activities with regard to sustainability, and to make a difference to the environmental impact of the sport.
