Through his passion for trucks and his involvement in the transport industry, its late owner, monsieur Patrick Folléas, who sadly passed away in January 2020 acquired the Lion Truck Racing team in 2012. An outstanding entrepreneur and boss, he quickly became a pillar of truck racing and lead his team to 6 French Championship titles in only 8 years.
Lyon based Lion Truck Racing have been racing in the ETRC since 2015 taking several wins and podiums in the last few seasons.
The French outfit returned for a full season in 2022 however halfway through the season, their driver Anthony Janiec tragically passed away.
The team confirmed it will continue to race in the Goodyear FIA ETRC and enter Jonathan André as driver. André joined as team manager and race engineer on the very first day the team was founded by Patrick Folléas ten years ago, and who is a well respected member of the truck racing paddock.
André comes with some experience in car racing, having competed in the Official French Peugeot Championship and Club Europa races with a Porsche. Whilst he hadn’t done any truck races yet, he has been test driving the team’s truck in the past seasons during winter testing.
He had a few outings in 2022 getting familiar with the team's MAN and will continue to make race-by-race appearances in the Goodyear FIA ETRC.
