What is HVO?
Six-time Goodyear FIA ETRC Champion Jochen Hahn tells us more about the 100% sustainable fuel that powers the race trucks
The Goodyear FIA ETRC is the first-ever motorsport series to successfully switch to a 100% sustainable fuel.
HVO stands for hydrotreated vegetable oil and has been used in all race trucks since 2021, reducing the CO2 emissions by up to 92%.
The transition to a fuel fully originated from renewable sources was a first important step into a new era and proof that it is possible to take actions for lower GHG emissions with commercial vehicles on the road, which is demonstrated on the track.
