2023 Calendar EXPANDS TO 9 RACES AND FEATURES NEW VENUE IN POLAND

The FIA World Motorsport Council has formally approved the 2023 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship calendar at its meeting in Bologna, Italy as part of the FIA Annual General Assembly.

The nine date calendar will feature races on familiar and challenging circuits, which are established and well attended Goodyear FIA ETRC venues.

Next season will also see the addition of a new circuit to welcome the top class of European Truck racing: Poznań in Poland will host the fourth race meeting of the season.

“We have had our 2023 race calendar officially confirmed and we believe that it represents a really strong combination of continuity and challenge for our teams and drivers,” said ETRA Managing Director Rolf Werner.

“We are excited to be adding a new venue to the calendar with the round in Poznań, Poland in June.

It is the first time a FIA circuit championship takes place on this track, and we look forward to seeing some exciting racing on what looks to be a challenging circuit for our drivers.”

Marek Nawarecki, Director of FIA Sport & Touring Cars Department, said: “Having the Goodyear FIA ETRC calendar expanded into nine rounds for the first time since 2017 is very good news that coincides well with the positive developments taking place in the series over the last couple of years, such as the introduction of biofuel or the recent opening of technical regulations to hybrid and electric powertrain solutions in parallel to the ones currently in use being constantly improved.

It’s also encouraging for the series to break into new markets and showcase truck racing to new audiences. Poland is an important hub for Europe’s truck haulage industry and given close link between this industry and the sport that exists within the championship, this is sensible and relevant step for the championship to take.”
